GRUMBLES IN BRITAIN
Rec. 9.55 p.m. London, Sept. 20. The Daily Telegraph says that telegrams sent by train and letters are left lying at railway stations for days and telephone lines completely out of action without apparent reason are among the complaints being made at post offices. Mr. Herbert Morrison, Minister of Supply, announced that "very heavj delay is inevitable." Letters are taking a week to reach destinations and the average delay is about four days. Post offices throughout London from September 23 will remain open after raid warnings. Offices are being made blast and splinter proof.
