There are two letters from you to be answered this week, and two from "Nookie" also. It was just lovely to hear from you again, and thank you for the piece of poetry. Mabel Waiwiri, Oaonui: Hullo, Mabel. Only half your letter arrived at the Hut this time. What happened to the rest of it? Thank you for telling us the vlate of your birthday. Aurea Goodwin, Hawera: There is an Australian boy named Les Bodycoat, who will get a pen-friend for you if you write to him. His address is Wollert, Victoria. I am sorry but the pen-name you wanted has been taken. "Good.v," Hawera: You see, Olga, we were able to give you that pen-name. Were you pleased when you saw it here to-day? I am sorry but the Wendy Hut has no address of any pen-friend for you in the Islands. Marie Pritt, Mokau: A big welcome, new Tink! I am afraid somebody else has got the pen-name you were wanting, though, so is there any other name you would like to have instead? "Celia," Tarata: You will have to look for the Wendy Hut page always on Fridays now, Tink. I am sorry you missed it last week. No, you do not have to send in your cross-word solutions. D. Swears, Tarata: We bid you welcome this morning, new Tink. Yes, yoa may have tbe pen-name that you asked for, but do you know? Ycu haven't told us what your real name is! Harry Russell, Waitoitoi: Hard luck, Harry!* We cannot put either of those riddles on our page to-day as they are not quite suitable. Somebody else's penname is "Gene Autry." Yvonne Wilks, Stratford: Good morning, Yvonne. We love welcoming new Tinks, you know, so your letter came as a very pleasant surprise. We are giving you the pen-name that you asked for, and thank you for the piece of poetry. "Fairy Bell," Egmont Village: What a dear little creature your pet opossum must be. I don't wonder you are fond of him, especially as you reared him all by yourself. "Peter Pan," Mt. Messcnger: Billikins is wondering if the potatoes in your garden are up yet. He is very pleased because his are through now. Soon he will have to spray them so that they won't get the blight. "Daddy's Boy," Mt. Messenger: Dicky Boy is wondering what name you have given your pet lamb. He doesn't think you have told us yet. He and Baby Margaret christened their lamb Nosey! "Lily of the Valley," Mt. Messcnger. You must have enjoyed the pictures that night, the Hut people think. They of course just love being allowed to go. "Fox Hunter," Midhirst: Hullo! So here you are again! What a good hut you must have in that tree. I suppose you play all kinds of different games in it. "Cinderella," Auroa: Tinker Bell is wondering if any more chickens have been hatched this week. She says she hopes you have better luck with them this time. "Bumble Bee," Auroa: Yes, the Hut children love being allowed to go out sometimes in the evenings. but of course they cannot do it much in school time for it makes them too tired the next day. "School Boy," Te Kiri: That was a lovely birthday present for you to get, the Hut people think, and they are sure you must have had lots of games with it by now. Thank you for those two riddles. "Hoofter Poofter," Stratford: How exciting to think that you have a calf of your own to look after this year. When I told the Hut people you were wanting a name for it they suggested Dinkie Doo. "Gloria Jean," Hawera: And here is "Gloria Jean" again. She never misses, does she! The Hut people have been having such a merry time this 'NYe?*c' They have been trying to teach Baby Margaret's lamb some tricks. "Old King Cole," Hawera: Another letter from "Old King Cole"! The people at the Hut are very pleased about it. And they have been laughing at the joke that came with ife Wasnt it a good one? "Mint," Toko: No, Baby Margaret didn't get one of those books, after all. She tried to one day but there were not any left. and after that I think she forgot all about it. "Kosy Morn," Toko: You haven't much longer' to wait for your birthday now, have you. Baby Margaret has just been watching your name going into this week's birthday corner. "Night Fairy," Eltham: Hullo "Night Fairy." What a big surprise you gave us this week. We haven't any room left for your request to-day, but we shall try and publish it next Friday instead. "Robin Hood," Riverlea: What a big help you must be to your mother in the garden, "Robin Hood." Whatever would she do without you, I wonder. "Mr. Sparrovv," Riverlea: Won't it be good when vour school has got a swimming bath of its own. Billikins wants to know if it will be ready for use this summer? "Dainty Lass," Riverlea: So you have | been able to have some good games of hop-scotch just lately, have you, Tink. When I looked out of my window yesterday I saw Baby Margaret trying to teach her lamb how to play it! "Glistening Dew," Riverlea: Well, your music exam must be over by now and I expect you are feeling very pleased. 1 wonder when you will hear wheiher you have passed. Doreen Leppcr. Tikorangi: I hope your j cold is better by now, for. it seems a pity to have a cold on nice warm sunny days, doesn't it? Joyce Lepper, Tikorangi: Thank you, Joyce, for your piece of poetry. One of these days we are hoping to be able to put it on our page. "Christmas Bells," Eltham: Baby Margaret does think you are lucky in having that dear little baby sister. She says she expects you would like to play with her all day long. "Daisy Dcll," Waitara: It was your birthday this week, wasn't it, Tink? I hope vou were feeling well enough to enjoy it. We have been having such fun trying to work out your riddle-me-ree. "Ink Bottle," Mangorei: It was a great surprise to get your letter this _ week, and we were very pleased about you may be sure. Do you think Brown Betty would suit your calf for a name? "Honey Flower," Toko: Baby Margaret is wondering if you have got your little chicks yet. If you have she is sure you will be hurrying home from school this afternoon so as to be able to have another peep at them. "Stencil," Mangatoki: There is no room left for your request to-day, Tink, so it will have to be kept until next week I fear. Do you remember to look for the Wendy Hut page always on Fridays now? "Betty Blue," Hawera: How good of you to promise us some more squares for our cupboard, "Betty Blue." So far Mr. Postman has not brought them to the Hut, but I expect by next week I will be able to tell you they have arrived. Lawrence Taylor, Meremere: 1 am sorry, Lawrence, but the pen-name you were wanting belongs to one of the other Tinks. Isn't that hard luck! Is there any other name you would like to have insiead?

"Tulip," Huiroa: The people of the Hut all hope your school concert is a big success. When is it going to be, they want to know? "Grandma's Boy," Huiroa: The people at the Hut were sorry to hear that your pet lamb had died. Will you be getting another one to take its place, they want to know. "Brown Bcar," Toko: What a good time you must have had at your birthday party. Dicky Boy wants to know if your pet lamb was invited to it, for pet lambs live parties, he says. "Mountain Mist," Rowan: Well, Tink, did you have a good birthday yesterday? We all hope you did. All kinds of good wishes were wafted to you from the Hut. "Water Sprite," Rowan: After your long walk for daffodils that day I hope you managed to get a good bunch of them. A number of the Hut daffodils are over. "Grandma's Girl," Rowan: You have beatcn the Hut people with your birdnesting this year for they have not yet found any nests with eggs in. Anyway, they say, they know where three new empty nests are! "Bantain," Rowan: Now that the summer days are coming you will be able to have lots of games in your playhouses, won't you. I expect your dolls are looking forward to that. ' "Lady Whitewood," Opunake: How pleased we all were to get your letter this week. And we thought it was good of you to send us those riddles too, but unfortunately they have been on the Hut page before. "Princcss Pcriwinkle," Tikorangi: Hullo Tink. We could scarcely believe our eyes when we saw your letter arriving at the Hut this week. It did give us a lovely surprise. Thank you for the piece of poetry and the riddles. "Icing Sugar," Mermere: Now that you have got those new knitting needles you will be wanting to use them all the time, I expect. What colour are they, Tink? "Opossum," Mermere: We have been trying to find names for the calves and the lamb, Tink. and now what do you think of these?— Molly Moo for your calf. Goldibell for Phyllis' calf and Daisy for Florence's lamb. "Gladys," Mermere; I hope you do well with your calf again this year, Tink. Do you like it as much as the one you had last time? "Blue Blossom," Pungarehu: We shall try and publish your request next week, Tink, as there is not room for it today. We' were ever so pleased to get your letter. "Pet Lamb," Kohuratahi: How splendid to be hearing from you again, ,!'Pet Lamb." When I told the Hut people a letter had come from you they all wanted to read it straight away. "Cliffside," Huinga: The hook you are reading at school sounds as if it might be very exciting. Exciting books are "corker" to read, Billikins thinks! "Sparkling Watcrs," Blenheim: It must have been quite exciting going back to school this term and using the new rooms for the first time. You are glad your class didn't have to combine with the other one, aren't you? "Miss Star-fish," Kaimata: What a big family of chicks you have got at your place. It must be such fun feeding them, Baby Margaret thinks. "Candytuft," Kaimata: Thank you for your pieces of poetry and riddles. We have had the "Betty" piece before, but the others we are keeping for our page. "Wotan," Huiroa: What fun you are all going to have to-morrow when Iris becomes two years old. And won t Iris enjoy hlowing out the candles on her cake. "Jumping Joe," Huiroa: The wind has been blowing hard at the Hut this week. I wonder if it has been blowing hard at your place also. Baby Margaret nearly 'lost her hat coming home from school yesterday. "Jacko," Huiroa: Baby Margaret is wondering if Iris has got her pet lamb yet. Iris was frightened of lambs not very long ago, wasn t she? Dicky Boy used to be frightened of lambs too. "Dutchy," Patea: We are going to publish your request for a pen-friend and then perhaps one of the Tinks will write to you. Have you ever had a pen-friend before? "Wild Briar," Patea: It isn't very grateful of Billy to go and bunt you after you have been feeding him, is it. l hope Baby Margaret's lamb doesn t begm bunting her. "Pixie King," "Pixie Prince" and "Pixie Princess," Stratford: Hullo, three little Tinks. It was a lovely surprise to get your letter to-day. We all hope "Pixie Prince" is having a very good birthday. "Airforce," Toko: We have made a note of your request for those songs and will try and publish it next week. There is no room for it to-day.
