DELAYED 25 YEARS

WEDDING CELEBRATION A wedding celebration delayed for 25 yeas recently took place at Hawera when Mr. and Mrs. Harold Parsons, Whenuakura, entertained over 50 guests from Wanganui and many parts of Taranaki on the occasion of their silver wedding. Mrs. Parsons wore a model dinner gown of teal blue satin bncked crepe, with a shoulder spray of freesias and maidenhair fern. Mrs. P. Christensen, who was her bridesmaid, wore a navy ensemble. Mr. S. Smith, Hawera, was master of ceremonies. Toasts were duly honoured and a three-tiered cake was cut by Mrs. Parsons. The occasion was marked as one for special mention as Mr. Parsons left the day after the wedding for overseas with the 1st N.Z.E.F. for Egypt there was no opportunity for celebrating the usual wedding festivities. Several of the guests at the silver wedding were returned soldiers.
