Mrs. R. Nairne has returned to New Plymouth from Hawera, where she was the guest of her aunt, .rs.-J. Fraser. Miss M. Lawn left on Wednesday for Wellington, where she has been transferred for several months. Mrs. Baker, Mungapahe, who spent a holiday at New Plymouth with her sister, Mrs. H. R. Boswell, is now visiting Patea. Bowls of stocks and blue Argentine peas made an unusual colour scheme for decorations in the lounge of the Taranaki Women's Club on Wednesday night. Ten tables were engaged at bridge and prizes were won by Miss Arthur (auction) and Miss V. Curtis (contract). Concert at Spring Fair. The annual spring fair organised by the Guild of Holy Trinity Church, Fitzroy, concluded yesterday after two days' successful duration. On Wednesday a musical programme brought many more visitors to the parish hall, where business continued briskly between the items. Those who contributed songs to the programme were Mrs. Harrington, Miss J. McNeill, Miss F. MacDonald, Miss J. Aitken, Rev. F. Hart and Mr. J. D. Aitken. Accompaniments were played by Mrs. Weller, Miss M. Binns and Miss Peggy Aitken. Brackets of elocutionary items by Miss Moira Hoben were appreciated. Community singing was led by Mr. J. D. Aitken and supper was served by the women's committee.
