FAREWELLS AT OPUNAKE
Mrs H. Parkes. Opunake, was a hostc'ss on Friday afternoon when Mrs. D. Mantey who is leaving the district, was the gucst of honour. Mrs. Mantey was prescntcd with a shoulder spray by Mrs Parkes, who cxpressed the wish ot all that she would be happy in her new home. Mrs. Parkes chose a frock oi parma violct creiie. and Mrs. Mantey vvore a spring suit in pale grey with navy hat ancl accessories. Mrs. R. Ritchie entertained at briclga on Monday 'evening in honour of Mrs. Mantey. To reccive hcr guests Mrs Ritchie wore a frock of honey-coloured matalasse, while Mrs. Mantey chose a dinner frock and coatee of black velvet. Mrs. Ritchie presented Mrs. Mantey with a dainty shoulder spray, expressmg good
wishes. Mrs. R. Morris presented a floral spray to Mrs. Ritchie, as it was the occasion of her birthday. Musical honours were accorded Mrs. Ritchie. At the weekly bridge party of the Opunake Croquet Club the opportunity was taken to farewell Mrs. Mantey. Mrs. J. P. O'Sullivan made a presentation of a crystal cake dish to the guest of honour and thanked her for her interest in the club. A "lucky letter" competition was won by Mrs. C. Hawkes, bridge prizes going to Mesdames H. Johnston and H. W. Frank.
