The Taranaki Education Board at its meeting yesterda.y passed a resolution expressing sympathy with Mr. J. McAllister, Stratford, a member of the board, in the death of his mother. Following the conclusion of week-end play. members of the Stratford GolfClub tendered a farewell to Messrs. R. J. Mclntosh. Pilkington, A. Murdoch and Tony Rutherfurd. who are entering camp shortlv with the fourth reinforcemetits. Presentations were made on behalf of members by the club president, Mr. H. W. Douglas, who eulogised Ihe good qualities of the departing members and wished them a safe and speedy return to civil life.
