OAONUI SCHOOL CONCERT
At a concert held at the Oaonui school pupils netted £2 6s 6d for the Spitftre fund. Miss E. Dunne, assistant teacher, who has left to take a position at Duntroon, North Otago, was farewelled by pupils and parents. Mr. C. Hawkes, head master of the school, complimented Miss Dunne on her work for the school. Louis Kuriger, a pupil, presented her with a handbag from the pupils. Miss Dunne also received a shoulder spray, which was pinned into position by Celia Harrop and Iris Haskell. A euchre party was -held in the Oaonui hc.Il in aid of the Lady Galway Guild. Prizewinners were Mr. L. A. Bosworth, after playing off with Mr. j. Dalton. Mrs. j. Dalton won the women's prize. Hostesses were Mrs. j. Dalton and Mrs. A. Furze. Mrs. Watts, New Plymouth, is relieving at the Oaonui school until the arrival of a permanent teacher. Mr. and Mrs. Bruce Cochran, Stratford, recently visited Mr. and Mrs. Barret, Kina 'Road.
