CONGRESS ATTITUDE

RESOLUTION CONFIRMED ___ . Rec. 5.5 p.m. Bombay, Sept. 17. The All-India Congress commitlee by an overwhelming vote to-day ratified the executive's resolution sympathising with Britain. The resolution said: — "Mcmbers of Congress cannot withhold admiration for the bravery and endurance of the British nation in the face of danger. Members have no ill-will toward Britons, and the spirit of insistence on truth prevents Congress from doing anything to embarrass ' them. This selfimposed restraint cannot be taken to the extent of self-extinction. Congress does not desire at present to extend nonviolent resistance beyond what is required for the preservation of the liberties of the people."
