REQUESTS TO MINISTER "If the cutting out of the night collection is really ; just a war measure, why not cut out all collections and make a really decent saving," said Mr. Gordon Fraser, president of the Taranaki Chamber of Commerce, when speaking with a deputation to the Hon. P. C. Webb. Post-mnster-General. at New Plymouth last night. "I feel that local conditions shoulcl be taken into consideration, and if there is only one collection it should be a night collection." Mr. Fraser also asked the Minister for an improverhent in the mail service from Ohura and Matiere and New Plymouth. He pointed out that both were in the Taranaki province and the present system was far from satisfactory. "I can assure you that we will do all that it is possible in these matters, and if we can do anything without in any way affecting the war effort I can assure vou that it will be carried out," replied Mr. Webb.
