"MAISIE," "EVERYBODY SING."
GRAND THEATRE, HAWERA. Robert Young and Ann Sothern as a ranch manager and a show-girl stranded in a Wyoming carnival town are the chief protagonists of "Maisie," the 6mart-ly-paced, clever-dialogued and welldirected picture which will be shown at the Grand Theatre, Hawera, to-night and to-morrow. Both Young and Miss Sothern show what they can do with meaty roles and entertainment-packed situations in this story which, although placed against eye-striking and picturesque backgrounds of the cattle country, is decidedly not a Western in the accepted sense. Such stage and screen headliners as Allan Jones, Judy- Garland, Fanny. Brice, Reginald Owen, Billie Burke, Reginald Gardiner and Lynne Carver join hands to contribute a wealth of musical and acting talent to "Everybody Sing,"' the second attraction on this .double star programme, and one of the most original and infectious musicals yet to reach the talking screen.
