Services Appreclated. Appreciation of the services rendered the Hawera Hospital Board by Mr. C. J. Roberts were put on record at a meeting of the board yesterday. The chairman, Mr. A. L. Campbell. stated that Mr. Roberts had -been very. helpful to the board, especially in the matter of making an inventory of the hospital equipment, and he congratulated Mr. Roberts on his recent appointment. No'tifiable Disease. One case of pulmonary tuberculosis was the only instance of infectious and notifiable disease in the Hawera borough during August, reported the inspector, Mr. L. Hunt, at a meeting of the borough council last night Children's Effort. ^ Children of Turuturu school, Hawera, have this week handed to the Hawera Red Cross headquarters 35 ditty bags, 14 hot-water bag covers, 91 facecloths and 100 handkerchiefs. They made the articles at school with the assistance of their teachers. ,
