GERMANY OFFERS TERMS FUTURE FATE OF LONDON i
] Rec. 7.30 p.m. Berlin, Sept. 14. | An official spokesman said to-day j that about 2000 tons of bombs had I been dropped on London during the I week. "The Luftwaffe can be well 'satisfied with the results," he added. "London must now choose the fate of Warsaw or Paris. The weather, once England's ally, has become her i enemy. I "It is conservatively estimated that 1 24 big London docks were burned to j the ground last week," the spokesman I said. "Despite denials, foodsuffs are I running short and the so-called volunI tary evacuation is steadily growing, Istraining the transport system, which is ' already disorganised. London's armament ! industry has been reduced to a fraction of its forrner output. Docks, including the Canada Dock and the area westward of the East India Docks, were heavily bombed last night. The pilots all agreed there had been a reorganisation of London's aircraft defences, but the restriction of searchlights helped them." A German High Command report states: "Our bombers yesterday again attacked London and achieved numerous I hits on docks, warehouses and factories, j starting fires. We also effectively bombed i aerodromes, industrial plants, harbours j and railways in the south-east of England. The enemy bombed areas in Belgium, Holland and France, but did insigniflcant damage. The enemy lost eight planes yesterday, and two of ours are missing." German newspapers announce that 5500 have been killed in the London raids and proclaim that the responsibility rests with Mr. Churchill, says the correspondent of the Times on the German frontier. | It is also officially claimed that oil and ; petrol tanks were bombed near Bucking1 ham Palace, as well as the Cunliffe Owen ! aircraft factory at Southampton, where | production would be held up a few j mont.hs, and a nearby aeronautical rejsearch factory that specialises in longI range bombers. i
