SETTLEMENT OF DISPUTE

Auckland, Sept. 17. As a result oi the intervention of Mr. C. L. Hunter, liaison hfflcer of the Department of Labour, the dispute at the Maedonald mine and the Glen Afton coliiefie® has been settled and work will be resumed on Monday. A special meeting of union members was held at the Lyceum ""icatre, Huntly, this morning, lasting about two hours. Mr. Hunter received a good hearing and Ihe men's decision was praclically unanimous. It was decided that the matters in dispute be referred as early as possible to the national disputes committee.
