PARISHIONERS MEET

ST. JOHN'S CHURCH WORK A special meeting of parishioners was held in St. John's hall, Waitara, on Wednesday evening. The vicar, the Rev. E. G. Wilson, paid tribute to Mr. Hamlin, who had resigned from the position of people's ehurch warden, as he was leaving the district. Mr. W. B. Glasgow was electcd to fill the vacancy. It was decided to hold the annual rose show in November. , The following olhcers were elected: Patron, Mr. Hamlin; president, the Rev. Wilson; vice-presiclent, 19; general committee, Mesdames Chadwick, W. L. Wright, Glasgow, R. Armstrong, W. T. Joll, Ii. Joll Clarke, Morey, Smart, Reesby, Les. Sampson, L. H. Sampson, Prichard, A. Andrews, Hawkins, W. Fuller, Randall, Proctor, Wilson, Brigham, Coker, Misses E. Johnstone, Bicheno and Rattenbury, Messrs. Clarke, Chadwick, A. Andrews, Glasgow, F. Barnard, Dowsett. H. Wells, A. J. Wells, W. L. Wright, Hawkins and C. Smith; chief steward, Mrs. L. H. Sampson. Mrs. Clarke was elected secretary of the rose show in place of Mr. Hamlin, who has filled that position for last 14 years. It was decided to hold a baby show in November.
