Kaponga Red Cross Work.
A box of 417 articles of hospital necessities was paclced at the monthly meeting of the Kaponga Red Cross Society. This is the third case dispatched to Wellington headquarters. Donations were received from Awatuna and Riverlea. The secretary was instructed to write to the Oddfellows' Lodge in appreciation of the use of its hall for a recent series of five hundred afternoons. Mrs. John Guy presided. Unique Service. A service of unique character was held last night at the Wesley Church. Hawera, when the whole of the proceedings were conducted by the men's fellowship. Two male quartette numbers were sung and two brief addresses were delivered by members. The service of praise was led from the choir stalls by men of the fellowship.
