Ashburton, Last Night. The spring meeting of the Ashburton Racing Club was held in fine though windy weather. The course was in excellent order. There was a very large attendance. The totalisator handled £18,094 10s, against £11,942 10s last year. The judicial committee decided that Whiphand, ridden by C. T. Wilson, had been interfered with in • the ' Novice Stakes by Jolly Time, ridden by B. H. Brodie. Brodie was severely reprimanded and the trainer, R.
