WINNING RIVAL SCORES ROY BUN AND BRAW LASS

Ashburton, Last Night. The spring meeting of the Ashburton Racing Club was held in fine though windy weather. The course was in excellent order. There was a very large attendance. The totalisator handled £18,094 10s, against £11,942 10s last year. The judicial committee decided that Whiphand, ridden by C. T. Wilson, had been interfered with in • the ' Novice Stakes by Jolly Time, ridden by B. H. Brodie. Brodie was severely reprimanded and the trainer, R. Pentecost, was warned as to the horse's running about habits and told that if no improvement was made the horse would be recommended * f or the schooling list. Results were:— COUNTY HURDLES HANDICAP.
