(To the Editor.) Sir,— The people of New Zealand generally are anxious to assist Britain at this time by taking children from evacuated areas. I am certain that the children will benefit greatly by being in such a grand country and away from the "Home Front." What concerns me is whether these children are always to be referred to as "Homies." This is an expression too frequently used to persons who have chosen to live in our country. It is used with a nasty meaning behind it. I am a colonial with English parents who came here to help build New Zealand. They were not referred to as "Homies." We must remember that most of us are from English parents, and again I express the hope that these poor unfortunate kiddies will not be subjected to the sneering expression of "Homie."— I am
