NEW PLYMOUTH PRICES Prices for fruit, vegetables and meat were unchanged at New Plymouth yesterday, but eggs were a shade dearer on the wholesale market and poultry cost more at auction. Quotations were:— Fruit: Bananas 5d and 6d lb; cooking apples 41b for ls, per 401b case 6s 6d and 8s 6d; eating apples 3 and 41b for ls, per 401b case 8s 6d; Tauranga lemons 6 and 8 for ls; rhubarb 6d and 8d; pears 21b for ls; tomatoes, ls lb; Island oranges, 4, 5 and»6s for ls passion fruit, 8 and 10 for ls; tree tomatoes, 6d and 8d lb. Vegetables: Potatoes, 281b for 2s 3d; local kumeras, 31b for ls; carrots, 3d bunch; cabbages. 3d to ls each; lettuce, 2d to 6d each; cauliflowers, 3d to ls 3d; pumpkins, 3d lb; leeks, 3d bunch; spinach, 3d bundle; parsnips, 3d bunch; white turnips, 2d bunch; onions 51b for ls; celery, 6d, 8d, lOd; Brussels sprouts, 8d lb; swedes, 81b for ls; silver beet, 3d bundle; spring onions, 2d bundle; radish, 2d bunch. Wholesale Eggs. 6 Eggs were in shorter supply at Wehster Bros. weekly sale but quotations varied only slightly in an upward direction. There were no straightout pullets' eggs on offer. Quotations were: Hens ls 51d to ls 61d, mixed ls 5d to ls 6d. Higher Poultry Prices. Limited entries of poultry resulted in increases in prices at the weekly sale conducted by L. A. Nolan and Co. at

New Plymouth yesterday. Quotations were: Hens 3s 10d to 7s, roosters 4s to 7s, cockerels 3s lOd to 6s 9d, chickens 3d to 41-d, broody hens 5s to 7s 3d, bantams 2s 6d.
