FEW EVACUATIONS

MOTHERS RELUCTANT Rec. 9 p.m. London, Sept. 12. Despite nearly a week of intensive bombing London's working class mothers are still reluctant to co-operate in the Government and local authorities' evacuation scheme, says the Daily Telegraph. An official deciared: "We expected a- very large jump in registrations would follow the mass air raids, but frankly we are disappointed. It is true registrations have risen from a few hundred weekly to a 1000 daily, but the figure is far less than anticipated, because the scheme was ready for the evacuation of 250,000 within a few days."
