FORMER TARANAKI BOY

BIRTHDAY YESTERDAY BROTHER IN SQUADRON

Another son of a Taranaki family in Pilot Officer Trevor Harotd Hadley has been reported missing as a result of Royal Air Force operations, stated a Press Association message received last night. A son of Mr. and Mrs. A. H. Hadley, now of Thames but formerly of Stratford, Pilot Officer Hadley was 22 on the same day that he was posted missling. Trevor Hadley was educated at the Lower Hutt primary school and was a student of the Stratford Technical High School for six years. He was a fine athlete and a popular member of the school's senior cricket and football teams. He He worked in a Stratford shop for a year or so after leaving school and then farmed in the Wairarapa district. Enlistcd at Thames. Pilot Officer Hadley and his older brother both entered the air force from Thames, where the family moved in 1938, and both were serving overseas when Mr. A. H. R. Amess. principal of the Stratford Technical High School. last heard from Trevor through the school's system of keeping in touch with expupils. Pilot Officer Hadley was married at Christchurch last March shortly before leaving for England. He trained at Wigram and qualified for an A flying certificate. In England he was assigned to a heavy bomber squadron. His brother, Ronald Arthur Hadley, is a pilot in the same squadron.
