FAIR TO FINE WEATHER

By Telegraph—Press Association

Wellington, Last Night. The weather will be fair to fine at first but scattered rain will develop in Southland and Westland, extending as far north as South Canterbury. Temperatures will be mild in the south and moderate in the north. Moderate to strong winds from a northerly direction from Cook Strait southward and light variable breezes elsewhere will prevail. A change to fresh south-westerlies in the far south after 24 hours is predicted. The anti-cyclone over New Zealand is losing intensity and is beginning to move towards the north-east. An extensive depression is located in the south-west. Seas are becoming rather rough south of Westport and elsewhere slight or moderate.
