WAITARA
Miss M. Julian, who has been spending a holiday at Auckland, has returned. Miss Ruby Kendrick has arrived from Rotorua and is staying with her mother, T'rs. L. Kendrick. Mrs. G. Jones was a visitor to Master- ■ ton last week-end. j Mrs. S. G. Fraser returned on Monday from Wellington. Members of the Clifton Park Croquet Club met at the home of Mrs. P. Appleby to farewell their former president Mrs. J. W. Hamlin, who leaves shortly to live at Auckland. On her arrival the guest of honour was presented with a shoulder spray by Mrs. N. Johnston and the president, Mrs. H. M. Purdie, asked her to accept a cr.ystal violet bowl. Winners of progressive bridge were Mesdames J. Armstrong, H. M. Purdie and A. C. Beaven.
