LODGE ANNIVERSARY
TAUMARUNUI MEETING Special to Daily, News. . The sixth anniversary of Ruapehu Rebekah Lodge, No. 81, I.O.O.F., was celebrated at Taumarunui. Following a well-attended meeting of the lodge, which was presided ' over by the . Noble Grand, Sis. E .M. Robinson, the guests of the lodge members were admitted, and dancing was soon under way to the music of Mr. Cullen, with Bro. H. W. Robinson, P.G., as master of ceremonies. The arrangements for the evening were in the hands : of a" special committee, the supper being provided by the committee and the lodge members. Bro. G. J. Bull, P.D.D.G.M., who is the affing-district deputy-grand master for the King Country district, called on Sis. M. E. Taylor, J.P.N.G., to light the six candles surmounting' the birthday cake. Sis. M. Weston, V.G., was asked to extinguish the lighted candles, and Sis E. M. Robinson, N.G., was invited to cut the cake Greetings had been received froia Matua Waikato Rebekah Lodge (Frankton Junction), Progress Lodge (Te Kuiti) and from the local M.U.I.O.O.F. Lodge, and Bro. S. R. Phillips. N.G., _expressed greetings and congratulationa from Pride of Taumarunui Lodge, No. 84, Prizes for novelty events went to Sis» M. L. Crane and Bro. F. Harris. Misffl Dinsdale and Mr. Ellis, Sis. C. Harri(} and Mr. Johnson and to Sis. P. Berni® and Mr. R. Crane. An extra was playa^ by Miss E. Calderwoo^.
