"Tatters," Midhirst: Goodness, "Tatters"! Your letter did give the people at the Hut a surprise. They thought it was just splendid to be hearing from you again. Biscuit is the name they suggest for your school calf. "Snowie," Midhirst: And here is "Snowie," too. with another letter for the Wendy Hut. We all hope you had a very good birthday last Sunday, little Tink. "" "lnmie's Helpcr," Awatuna: Alan and Nancy will both find their names in our welcome corner this morning. We are very pleased to be making them members and we are giving them the pen-names that they asked for. "Orange Lily," Pungarehu: You need to cast on forty stitches for one of those .squares and use mediurn sized needles. Then you go on knitting until it measures six inches. Are you going to make one for us, Tink? Mary Gilhooly, Pungarehu: A merry welcome, new Tink! Yes, you may have "Dancing Daffodil" for your pen-name. It will be written into the Wendy Hut hook straight away. "Maydew" and "Golden Jasmine," Bcll Block: Hullo you two! Postie's bag has been as good as a surprise packet this week, for all kind of unexpected letters have been popping out from it. We should love to have Trevor as one of our Tinks. "Jacko," Huiroa: Your letter was late again last week. "Jacko." Hard luck. wasn't it? Now this week there are two to be answered in one. "Jumping Joe." Huiroa: I expect there are lots of lambs at your place by no_w and it must be lovely to see them all in the paddocks. Do you like lambs better than calves? "Wotan," Huiroa: Baby Margaret wants to know how your pet lambs is. "Wotan." She is very interested in pet lambs just now, for you see she has got one too. "Pungarere," Rahotu: How exciting to think that you are learning music now. Soon you will be playing all kinds of different t.unes I expect. Thank you for your piece of poetry. "Wild Briar." Patea: Sorry your letter had to wait until to-day to be answered. Tink. but it arrived a little late last week. you see. Yes. I hone we have , lots of fine da.vs for swimming later on. 1 "Dutchy." Patea: Here is another answer for you on the Wendy Hut page. "Dutchy." Billikins says he hopes you have been able to have some more games of football since you have been back at school. It is such fun getting letters from new members, the Hut people think. I am afraid the pen-name "Rata" has been taken. We are very pleased to be making you a member, but unfortunately we cannot give you that penname as it already belongs to another Tink. "Wedding Bells," Mangatoki: What a lovely time you must have had in the holidays. the Hut people say. Fancy spending a whole fortnight at Wellington. You were lucky. Marjorie, for sending us that piece of poetry. We like it but we cannot put it on our page for something seems to have gone wrong with the last two lines. They don't rhyme properly and they don't make sense.

"Sea Bird," Waitara: Yes, it is quite a long time since we last heard from you so your letter this week gave us a lovely surprise. Thank you for the riddles that you sent with it. "Bumble Bee," Auroa: The Hut children have been enjoying themselves at school so far this term for some of the days have been so sunny and warm that they have been able to have lessons outside. "Cinderella," Auroa: Yes, more and more flowers are coming out in the Hut garden. and Tinker Bell is feeling very pleased because her Iceland poppies are beginning to send up lots of buds. Aurea Goodwin, Hawera: Hullo Aurea! What a surprise to get your letter. You were seven when you joined the Hut before and then when Tinker Bell sent you a birthday card it was returned to us unclaimed. And now here you are again! A very big welcome! Olga Goodwin, Hawera: And a big welcome to you also. Olga. You may have the pen-name that you asked for so we shall expect to see it at the end of the next letter you write to the Hut. HTcsscnsmv: How pleased you must have been when you found that the radishes in your garden were up. Perhaps by now some of the other seeds are up as well. "Peter Pan," Mt. Messenger: I sudpose by now you have read all the stories in your new eomic! Baby Margaret and the Twins like reading comics too. "Lily of the Vallev," Mt. Messenger: I expect you were all excited when you saw the piano arriving at school that dav. Are any of you allowed to play on it? "Box of Birds." Oaonui: Your request is being kept for next week. Oaonui: I wonder if the new concrete paths at your school are finished yet! Billikins says he expects you enjoyed watching the men working at them.

"Little Teddy Bear." Oaonui: Your joke is not quite suitable for our nage this time so we won't be using it, Tink. We have made a note of 5'our request and will try and fit it in next week. "Pink Sugar Dolly," Oaonui: The Hut people like the piece of poetry you have sent and they are hoping there will be room of it on the page one dav soon. Tinker Bell is going to try and learn it by heart. "Golden Waitio." Tarata: What pretty nol.vanthus flowers and how lovclv to have them in your garden. I asked Baby Margaret which of them she liked best and she said the yellow one. "Primrose." Hawera: I suppose you would like to live on a farm now after having had such a good time on one all through the holidays. "Mint," Toko: I wonder if it took you long to put your new jig-saw puzzle together. The Hut Twins just love jigsaws and Baby Margaret does too. Barbara Corkill, Hawera: The Wendy Hut is very pleased to be weleoming you this morning, Barbara. It thinks you have chosen a good pen-name and it hopes you will be using it often. "Rosy Morn," Toko: Yes, I expect it did give you a surprise last week to find the Hut page appearing a day earlier than usual. You will always have to watch for it on Fridays now, won't you. "Swiss Girl," Kaponga: It was good of you to send us those riddles for our page, but I am afraid they cannot be used this week as other Tinks have sent them to us before. "Cliffside," Huinga: How pretty the bed of flowers at your school must be. Flowers are coming out in all the gardens now, aren't they? Winter must have really and truly gone. "Grandma's Girl," Rowan: I suppose your little pups are too small yet to come out and play, but later on you will have lots of fun with them I am sure. "Water Sprite," Rowan: Hullo, 13-year-old! Have you been feeling any different this week? Baby Margaret is sure she will feel quite grown-up as soon as ,-;he reaches her 'teens. "Bantam," Rowan: It was a good idea to send .your letter a little earlier this week, for you want to make sure of getting an answer on the page, don't you, Tink?

"Mountain Mist," Rowan: Oh dear! We should miss your letters if they stopped coming after next week, Tink. You may write to us for as long as you want to after you are 16, but in the Tinks' birthday corner your name will no longer appear. Valerie Cole, Urenui: The people of the Hut are calling a loud welcome to you this morning, Valerie, and they hope you are going to enjoy being one of the Tinks. Unfortunately the pen-name you were wanting has already been taken. John Cole, Urenui: And the Hut people are glad to be weleoming you also, John. They are afraid you will have to think of another pen-name, though, for "Jacko" belongs to one of the other Tinks. "Loyal Betty," Auroa: Your garden must be looking pretty with those pansies flowering in it. Baby Margaret says she does hope the rain hasn't been splashing mud up on to their faces. "Honey Bee," Auroa: Thank you for your piece of poetry. We are keeping it, Tink, and will print it on our page just as soon as ever we can. "Glistening Dew," Riverlea: We shall try and publish your request next week for we have not enough room for it to-day. All these songs are very popular just now, aren't they. "Dainty Lass," Riverlea: It was too bad that you had to start off school again by wearing your coats nearly every day, wasn't it. The Hut people don't like having to wear theirs either. "Robin Hood," Riverlea: Hullo "Robin Hood." Isn't it grand to know that you have this pen-name now! The real Robin Hood had a bow and arrows. • I wonder if you have, too! "Mr. Sparrow," Riverlea: How bright your house must look when all the iights are turned on. Billikins says he bets you enjoy turning them on and off, "Mr. Sparrow!" "Dewdrop Elf," Waitara: 'Fraid your piece of poetry is too long for us to print on our page. We don't have as much room for poetry now as we used to, you see. "Buttercup Elf," Waitara: And your piece of poetry is not quite suitable. Too bad, "Buttercup Elf"! I am glad you have been enjoying school so far this term. "Grandma's Boy," Huiroa: Baby Margaret thought it was hard luck that you had had to stay away from school for nearly a week. She is sure you must have been glad when you could go back again.

"Tulip," Huiroa: Top in sums! How splendid! You will have to see if that can happen every week now. "Tulip." Baby Margaret would like to be able to come top in something too. "Daddy's Cowboy," Te Kiri: Billikins i has been planting green peas in his vegetable garden this week and has been hoeing up his potatoes. Are you having a vegetable garden this year he wants to know? "Dntch Doll," Te Kiri: What a monster eauliflower that must have been. Hut Gardener is quite proud of the ones coming on in his garden but they would look very small beside that one of yours, I am sure. "Sparkling Waters," Blenheim: School again. and the last term! This is when everybody works hard so as to pass exams. isn't it. The Hut Twins say they don't like the last term much. "Meadow Mouse," Alton: Hullo, "Meadow Mouse." I have taken care to put the right address at the ton of vour letter this time. you see. What lovely flowers you must have in your garden. "Sweet Orchids." Te Kiri: You are lucky being able to pick big bunches of clamatis, aren't you. It must be looking very pretty in the bush. "Snorting Luck." Te Kiri: Thank you for those two riddles that came with your letter this time. We are able to keep one of them for the page. "Little Sir Echo."
