NEAKLY 1,000,000 REGISTER Rec. 9.5 p.m. Ottawa, Sept. 10. The Minister of National War Services, Mr. J. G. Gardiner, announced today that 988,725 single men aged 19 to 45 ycars had registered for military service. of whom 77,983 in the 21-year class would start training in October. Two batches of 30,000 each would be called up before Christmas. The figures, he added, I did not include 60,000 men who had al- | ready enlisted for active service.
