HOME AND MAORI MISSIONS The work of home and Maori missions, an important branch of the activities of the Methodist Church, was the subject at a lecture given at Hawera by the Rev. G. L. Laurenson on Tuesday night. Dcspite inclement weather, the nudience was large nnd Mr. Laurenson, who is superintendent of the work throughout New Zealand. showed many natural colour photographs, which he has collected in the course of his work of people and places he has visited. As lantern slides these pictures gave visual emphasis to Mr.. Laurenson's declaration that "the work of these missions is really worth while." • He was thanked for his lucid and interesting explanation of the objects and work of the mission by the Rev. G. F. Stockwell, who urged whole-hearted support. Mrs. Tozer, expressing the hope that a considerable surn would be raised this year for such a worthv causs, briefly outlined the work of the branch of the missions at Hawera.
