Rec. 5.5 p.m. London, Sept. 9. ' French and Japanese negotiations are reported to have reached a deadlock after the departure of the two chiefs of the Japanese mission, says a niessage fpom Hanoi. Frencb quarters are favourably impressed by the reports of alleged negotiations between Washington and Moscow, which are regarded as of_ the highest importance to Indo-China's future. French Indo-China, according to reports reaching official quarters at London, has not accepted Japanese demands for the passage of troops through its territory. There was a further violation by a. few Japanese troops, but that was solved without fighting.
