LOSS TO STRATFORD
MRS. I. McALISTER DEAD At the age of 99 years, the death of Mrs. Isabella W. McAllister occurred at the home of her son, Mr. J. McAllister, Broadway North, Stratford, yesterday. Mrs. McAllister, who entered her 100th year with the celebration of her 99th birthday on May 11 last, retained all her faculties, with the exception of close eyesight, until the time of her death. Born at Greenock, Scotland, in 1841, Mrs. McAllister came to New Zealand in 1875 as a young wife with three children. After landing at Dunedin, they remained there for some years and spent the ensuing 20 years in different centres in Southland. For the last 25 years Mrs. McAllister lived at Stratford. Mrs. McAllister, who has always had a keen interest in church work, is survived by three daughters and a son. They are Mesdames J. Donald (Wellington),, N. S. Benfell^t'Auckfend )and W. A. Robertson (HeaEersioB^ Auckland) and Mr. J. McAllister -'(Stratford) . The funeral will take place at Stratford to-morrow.
