TWO FEATURES AT STATE.
"VIVA CISCO KID." Action, adventure, comedy, romance, and all the thrills of the old west are plentifully provided in "Viva Cisco Kid," which heads the double feature programme now showing at the State Theatre, with Cesar Romero again superbly playing the dashing Cisco Kid. O. Henry's lovable outlaw out shoots, out rides and outwits the toughest, roughest gang of cut-throats ever assembled on one screen — and his mind is not really on his work — because his real aim in life is winning lovely Jean Rogers. ChrisPin Martin again plays Gcrdito, whose fruitless attempts to check Cisco's romantic inclinations provide plenty of laughs. Martin, in his lumbering way, also aids Romero in blocking a robbery, eluding a posse and breaking up the desperadoes. The associate feature is "What Would You Do, Chums?" a grand com-edy-drama of Cockney life starring Syd Walker and Jean Gillie. Walker is generous, open-hearted, and happy, but his problem arises when his ward, a lovely young girl. gives her heart to an earnest but weak young man who is mixed up in passing counterfeit banknotes. How he is tested in a dramatic court scene is one of the highlights of the film, which also provides plenty of laughs. Britain's mighty navy forms a background for Sandy Powell's funniest comedy "All At Sea," which begins on Friday at the State Theatre.
