Hour of Meeting.

Last January the Egmont County Council decided to fix the time of commencing the monthly meetings for 10 a.m., an hour carlicr than had been the custom for years, but finding the hour too early for members actively engaged in farming, Cr. J. S. Tosland gave notice to rescind thc resolution with a view to reverting to 11 a.m. Held over from last meeting to enable the chairman to be present, the question was discussed yesterday, when somewhat of a tangle occurred. It was suggested that as a compromise 10.30 a.m. might be agreed to by both parties. However, on being put to the vote, both 10.30 a.m. and 11 a.m. were defeated, which meant retaining 10 a.m., a result that had not been anticipated. Finally with a view to getting over the impasse Cr. Tosland gave notice to move at next meeting that the hour be 10.30
