CLOSING OF NOMINATIONS

Sydney, Sept. 9. With the closing of nbminations for the Federal elections it is revealed that there are 272 candidates for 75 seats. Of the total 204 have been endorsed by recognised political parties and •' 68 are independent. The endorsed candidates comprise Official Labour 75, United Australian Farty 58, United Country Party 27, New South Wales Labour 19, Non-Communist Labour 18, Liberal and Country Party 6, Frotestant Labour 1. New South Wales heads the list with 135 candidates for 28 seats. There are four women candidates. The only candidate not opposed is Mr. A. E. Green, Kalgoorlie, who is standing -ha Labour interests. .
