Mesdames C. Bo water and W. Allan entertained friends at a towel aftemoon for Miss Gladys Baylis on Monday afternoon at the residence of Mrs. C. Bowater. Mrs. Bowater wore a blue suit of brushed wool, and Mrs. Allan a frock of black matalasse. Miss Baylis chose a model frock of leaf green cloque with gold trimmings. She was presented by Errol Bowater with a bouquet of spring flowers. Competitions were won by Mrs. A. Baylis and Mrs. R. Taylor. Those present included Mesdames S. Sinclair, A. Baylis, L. Lobb, M. McSweeney, H. Mann, J. Sinclair, J. O'Sullivan, A. Harvey, J. Starck, M. Fennell, W. Wan, T. Mulligan, E. Baylis, E. Wallis and R. Taylor. Mrs. R. Jenkin was hostess at an enjoyable bridge and mah jongg party on Saturday evening. She wore a smart frock of cyclamen taffetas, and the lounge was gay with large bowls of spring flowers and shrubs. The prize for the highest score at bridge went to Mrs. Mantey, the mah jongg being won by Mrs. Gunson. The guests included Mesdames H. Syme, J. S. Hickey, E. Baylis, J. P. O'Sullivan. D. Thomas, R. Ritchie, R. Morris, T. Fouhy, D. Mantey, F. Hammppd, O, Williams, G, Snell, P. Dal-l-ymple; H: Parkes, Hr Shielfls, H.:;W. Frahk, J. P. Burton, W. Gunson, Misses E. Trotter and M. Fake. Bride-to-be Entertained. Miss Gladys Baylis, who is to be married on Saturday, was entertained at a kitchen tea at the residence of Mrs. R. Ritchie on Saturday afternoon. Hostesses were Mesdames R. Ritchie, J. P. O'Sullivan and D. Mantey. Mrs. Ritchie chose a frock of honey-coloured matalasse, Mrs. O'Sullivan a smart ensemble of navy blue and lime green, and Mrs. Mantey a frock of navy and white spotted sheer. Miss Baylis wore a pretty frock of Dutch blue crepe with woolly coat to tone. Bridge, mah jongg and. competitions entertained the guests. The highest score at bridge went to Mrs. F. Hammond, mah jongg was won by Miss Fake and competitions by Mrs. T. N. Watt, Mrs. A. Hickey and Mrs. K. McNae. Mrs. O'Sullivan on behalf of those present presented Miss Baylis with a large number of gifts for her kitchen. She was also given a shoulder spray of pink hothouse flowers, the gift of Mrs. R. Morris. Miss Baylis suitably replied. Those present included Mesdames E. G. Baylis, T. N. Watt, R. Jenkin, R. Morris, P. Dalrymple, J.«C. Mutter, F. Hammond, G. Feaver, H. Syme, D. Thomas, H.
