OTAKEHO W.D.F.U. DANCE

The hall was filled for the dance held last week under the auspices of the W.D.F.U. and a substantial profit was shown. The hall was decorated with streamers in the division colours, this being the work oj the junior members an I other helpers. Music was provided by Mrs. Attrill's orchestra and the masters of ceremonies were Messrs. J. Young and N. Wheeler. A Monte Carlo was won by Mrs. Stockwell and Mr. Ramysn and a lucky partner Gay Gordons by Miss Doreen Morris and Mr. L. Adlam. Extras were played by Mrs. Mudford, Miss Walker and Mr. S. Nuku. Supper was served by members of the division. Among those present were Mesdames Walker (floral frock in wine tonings), Richardson, Auroa (black model), W. McDonald (multi-coloured flowered I frock), Mudford (black lace), Ross J (black wifh rust coatee), Lord (navy ! flowered crepe), Campbell (wine satinbacked marocain), Dunn (black sale), J. I E. Young (prune velvet), S. le Fleming j (black crepe de soi), L. Julian (rust rip!ple crepe), R. Thompson (floral wine ;sheer), Pritchard, Wellington (blue floral j crepe), E. Price (pink taffetas), F. Music for dancing was played by J. Dunn and party, extras by Miss Walker and Mr. R. Boyd. Euchre was managed hv Mr. L. ' Mudford and the winners were Miss L. I Mourie 1, Miss M. Boylan 2, Mr. B. Pauro

1 and Mr. M. Nicolson 2. A competition was won by Miss M. Hunia with Mr. J. Campbell. Personal. Miss Alma Young has returned from a visit to Wanganui. Mrs. Whitwell was a visitor to New Plymouth during the week. Miss Webster spent the weck-end at hcr home at Hawera. Miss Nancy Barlow, Longburn, has been the guest of her parents for a few days. Mrs. F. le Fleming was a recent visitor to New Plymouth. Mrs. T. G. Mitchell recently paid a visit to New Plymouth. Miss K. Crompton is spending her annual leave in the Auckland district. Mrs. II. Corkill visiled New Plymouth at ihe week-end. Mrs. C. Des Forgcs, New Plymouth. is spending a holiday with her mother, Mrs. Jenkins. Mrs. Mackic has returned from a visit to hcr daughtor. Mrs. Miskelly,. in Ihe Auckland district. Mr. and Mrs. R. Dunn are spending a holiday in the Hawkes Bay district. Mrs. H. Nicholls entertained members of the Anglicnn Ladies' Guild at her home last week.
