DOUBLE PROGRAMME.
WILL MAHONEY AT GRAND. That internationally famous comedian, Will Mahoney, of "1*11 Tell You Wha* 1*11 Do" and "She's My Lily" fame, Evie Hayes and Jean Hatton head the cast of "Come Up Smiling," the new Cinesound comedy which will be screened at the Grand Theatre, Hawera, to-night. Four song numbers are introduced in the film. First there is that already famous Mahoney number, "1've Got Ants In My Pants"; a parody "Mammy" number, sung to a week-old lamb, is uniquely presented with a comedy dance routine by Will Mahoney. With a blackened face and his Derby hat tippecl rakishly on his head, Will nimbly leaps from a travelling car to an attach'ed caravan trailer in the course of the song. Vivacious Evie Hayes and Cinesound's singing starlet, Jean Hatton, sing catching numbers by Henry Cripps, of which the theme song, "Come Up Smiling," should prove popular. In the supporting attraction, "Grandpa Goes to Town," the Higgins family comes back with more laughs than ever.
