H & ■ FARMERS' UNION MEETS At the monthly meeting of the Lepperton branch of the Farmers' Union. there. were present by invitation Messrs. F. B. Matson and B. Anderson, who have sold their farms and left the district. During the meeting the chairman, Mr. H. E. Blyde, made presentations of inscribed pocket wallets on behalf of the branch to them. Both in reply referred to the good work done by the Farmers* Union. The chairman dealt with business of a recent executive meeting, and reported on a deputation which met the Prime Minister and the Minister of Finance. The fortnightly card afternoon held m connection with the Lepperton branch St. Mark's guild was held at the residence of Mrs. E. W. Wheatley. Owing to counter attractions only two tables were engaged in play. Four infants were enrolled at the Lepperton school at the commencement of the new term. Personal. Mr. and Mrs. R. H. Sinclair and family have returned from Dannevirke. Mrs. E. Hellier junr. is back in hosv. pital. Mrs. D. Paterson, Tarata, was the guest of her sister. Mrs. H. E. Blyde. Mr. and Mrs. A. G. Cartwright, Weli j lington, were guests of Mrs. Cartwright senr. and Mr. and Mrs. W. A. Cartwright last week-end.
