FLYING SCOTSMAN RECORD

392 MILES NON-STOP RUN. By Telegraph—Press Assn.—Copyright. A. and N.Z. - London, April 11. The “Flying Scotsman," the most famous train in the world, will establish a world record non-stop journey from London to Edinburgh (392 miles) on MajDay. The present non-stop record is London to Carlisle (300 miles), which is regarded as the limit of a driver's endurance.

The new record will be made possible by the invention of a corridor tender, communicating with the train and allowing a change of drivers. The Flying Scotsman has left King’s Cross for Edinburgh every week day for the last 66 years.
