AGENT OF NANKING

WOMAN DIPLOMAT'S MISSION. London, April 1. Vivacious, pretty, bobbed, and shortskirted, with a magical smile and a reputed ability to over-match less agileminded male diplomats of the old world, Miss Soume Tcheng has arrived at Marseilles. She is on a mission to the European Governments on behalf of the Nanking Nationalists, says the Paris correspondent of the Daily News. After taking a doctor’s degree at the Sorbonne in 1926, Miss Tcheng acted as chief of police for the Nanking Government, inspiring terror among rogues and Chinese "Reds.” It is reported that she will submit to the British Foreign Secretary, Sir Austen Chamberlain, proposals for the settlement of the Nanking outrages, and will also try to secure the recognition of the Government' at Nan. king as the only responsible 'one in China.
