Harvie has been suspended by Bishop Cherrington, of Waikato, from the position of. canon of St. Peter’s Cathe* dral. Mr. Harvie states that he felt it his duty to oppose the bishop, .but he decline® to disclose the nature of the dispute. Mr. Harvie retains the office of diocesan secretary. Mr. Harvie was for ten years vicar of St. Mary’s, New Plymouth, and came to Hamilton on the formation of the new Waikato Diocese. The bishop declines to make any state, ment at present.
