MELBOURNE TRAM TROUBLE

The tramway men on 15 city routes here declared a 24 hours’ strike for today because the Tramways Board re fused to recognise to-day as a holiday under the Arbitration ' Court award, extra payment for which would amount to £l5OO. Received April 8, 5.5 p.m. A. and N.Z. Melbourne, April 8. After a compulsory conference of the parties to the tramwav dispute, the men decided to return to work. All services are now normal.
