A WORD ABOUT GLOVES.

Many people are a little chary of trying to wash the new washable suede gloves, for the very simple reason that on some occasions the washing has proved unsuccessful. The rule for washing these gloves is exactly opposite to that for washing ordinary wash-leather-gloves. With the latter the soap should be left in, but the suede gloves should be rinsed with the utmost care, and they should be put on the hands several times while they are drying.

Many people, too. put off the washing too long. The gloves sltould not be allowed to get too dirty, as this makes the washing a difficult business, and it ig hard to get them to look really fresh again. The fancy kid gloves and the fancy suede should, of course, be cleaned, although the coloured kid gloves do not, as a rule, clean so well as the coloured suede. This is why the fancy suede, although more expensive to buy, are often more economical in the 'long run.
