CRANEWORKERS’ STRIKE
DETAILS OF SETTLEMENT. By Telegraph—Press Assn.—Copyright. Sydney, Dec. 3. A mass meeting of Newcastle cranedrivers ratified the terms of settlement agreed upon at the conference with the Minister. The terms indicate that both sides made concessions in order to bring about peace. The men will share alike a rate of wages which is a reduction on the present award, rates and shifts to be arrang I such as will give all the cranedrivers an equal amount of work. When, however, the “no overtime” strike is settled, the agreement becomes imperative and the erane-drivers return on the conditions existing before the strike.
