Walker. : [ $ $ $ Miss Salmond, the newly-appointed principal of the Craighead Diocesan School, of Timaru, will arrive by the Remuera toward the end of January. • * * * A wedding of interest was celebrated by the Rev, Monsignor McKenna, at St. • Patrick’s Church, Masterton. on Tuesday evening, when Miss Kathleen Bunny, . third daughter of Mrs. Bunny and the late Mr. A. R. Bunny, of Masterton, was married to Mr. Stuart Stanley McMinn, whose parents reside in Scotland. The bride was given, away, by her uncle, Mr. Edward P. Bunny, of Lower Hutt, and wore a gown of white georgette with silver beads and the customary veil and blossoms. The bride was attended by her sister, Miss Nora Bunny, who wore a frock of apricot georgette with ■ gold tissue and trimmings to match, while Mr. J. Stockman, of Masterton, was best man. The wedding reception was held at the residence of the bride’s mother, in Bunny Street. ♦ ♦' * ♦ Madame Winnie Fraser is paying a return visit to New Plymouth next week, under special engagement to the Choral Society, in order to take part in the production of Coleridge-Taylor’s "Hiawatha.” Madame Fraser is the Dominion's leading and most popular soprano. She has sung the ‘Hiawatha” music for several of the leading societies of New Zealand with great success and her appearance in this pictur- ’ esque work with the loc:tl. society is being keenly anticipated, as much by those who heard her recently, as by those who missed that opportunity. NURSES BUREAU. For some time past the need of a recognised bureau of registered nurses, in New Plymouth has been an urgent, one. and it is gratifying to know that at last the matter is receiving serious consideration. and that there is every possibility of such a bureau being officially commenced in the near future. .The benefit of such a bureau is threefold—(l) to the patient requiring ‘immediate, nursl ing attention: (2) to the medical profession: and (3) to trained nurses. AH trained nurses in the district will have the opportunity of regi feering witli the ■ u ben done, will ensure the prompt supplying of hnrsing assistance when desired.
