REMOVAL OF WOOL STAINS

DUNEDIN DISCOVERY TO STAND TESTS. Dunedin, Nov. 30. Further tests have been made by the Dunedin chemist who found out how to remove tar branding and other stains from wool, and the result of his laboratory experiments is to fully confirm him in the knowledge that he has discovered an effective method for removing brands of any kind from wool. Asked about the matter to-day, he said: “The brand nuisance will soon be a trouble of the past. It is a big thing to say, but my tests gave that result, and now, after further trials, they prove quite certain. The severest of all tests was as to tar branding, and my process answers completely. The operation scours the yvool at the same time as the de-branding, and the cost is negligible, a fraction of a penny per pound of wool. Practically the cost is only for labour. Scientifically, so far as I, can see. the brands now need be no deterioration.”
