(From Our Own Correspondent.) Waitara, Dee. 4. At a well-attended meeting of the Seaside and Surf-Bathing Society held this week, various matters of interest were discussed. Among these was the date for the opening for the season. The works committee having reported that the new bathing sheds were nearing completion, December 16 was decided upon No sports programme will be arranged, but entertainment will be provided for the children; also afternoon tea and light luncheon. For the right to conduct the beach tea room for the season, tenders will be called, the successful tender to have the right to collect bathing shed fees. Regarding tho society’s using the beach property, it was pointed out that the committee were desirous at all times to encourage the attractions of the society’s reserve, but they would appreciate application being madia first, so as to prevent any clashing. The society desire to thank Mr. Butler, of Auckland, who kindly offered his services gratuitously to paint the sheds.
