KING FERDINAND IMPROVED. By Telegraph—Press Assn. —Copyright. Paris, Nov. 30. A heavy gale at Cherbourg delayed Queen Marie’s landing till the afternoon. She was instantly conveyed by a special train to Paris. The Court Chamberlain intimated that the King had improved, but the Queen must proceed to Bucharest without a moment's delay. Received Dee. 1, 7.40 p.m. Paris, Nov. 30. Queen Marie, when interviewed by' journalists, said that during her stay in Paris she intended to use her influence both as a mother and a queen to persuade Prince Carol to return in his private capacity to see his ailing father. She suggested that such a visit might have a calmins' effect upon public opinion in Roumania. Queen Marie expressed her pleasure that the King’s condition was improving, but declined to discuss Roumanian affairs. Prince Carol did not meet Queen Marie on her arrival. APPEAL TO THE NATION. MESSAGE FROM THE KING, Received Dee. 1, 7.40 p.m. Bucharest, Nov. 30. In an appeal to the nation to rally to the defence of the throne against those seeking to overthrow the dynastic constitution, King Ferdinand, in a letter to the Premier, says: “Happily my strength and health are returning, I believe that with the help of God we shall be able to continue to fulfil our duty to our dear country and beloved people. In the interests of the country I have always kept my personal feelings in the background. I have sacrificed personal bonds as was necessary when I terminated the errors and indiscretions of a well-beloved child. I am therefore entitled to believe that nobody can doubt my constant solicitude completely to' fulfil my duty to-my country. Until my last moments I shall do so with resolution, making every effort possible to ensure a stable future. I am sure that in this I can rely upon the help of all good and loyal Roumanians.” Received Dec. 1, 9.10 p.m. London, Dec. 1. The Exchange-Telegraph’s Agency’s Paris correspondent reports that Professor Hartmann has departed for Bucharest to perform an operation on King Ferdinand. The Daily Express’ Bucharest corrcs pondent says that M. Nikola Jorga. the leader of the National Party, declare© that Prince Carol may return, and says: “I will support him if he will give up that woman in Paris, who intoxicates him like alcohol. If he returns to his lawful wife and son, and if he declares he has no adventurous ideas and does not wish to become Dictator, Princess Helen will forgive him.”
