Messrs Cock and Co. advise that the Alexander is due at New Plymouth to-morrow morning with 280 tons of coal from Westport. She returns to that port after discharge. inSnTFORD ’S ITINERARY. The Federal S.N. steamer Hertford, which leaves Liverpool on December 31 with general cargo for discharge, is due at Auckland on February 11 and will also discharge at Wellington, Lyttelton, Port Chalmers and New Plymouth. DEWEY FROM PACIFIC COAST. Messrs Newton King, Ltd., advise that the Dewey, which left Los Angeles on November 13 for New Zealand ports, is due at Auckland next Wednesday. She afterwards calls at Wellington and New Plymouth, where she Is duo on Decem/ber 20 or 22 to discharge Pacific Coast cargo before sailing for Melbourne, Sydney and Brisbane. MAHANA ON DECEMBER 15. The Shaw, Savill and Albion steamer Mahana, due at Auckland to-morrow from London, afterwards proceeds to Wellington and New Plymouth, where she is due about December 15 to discharge about 1500 tons of general cargo.
JOHN DUE TO-MORROW. Messrs Holm and Co. advise that the John 15 now due at New Plymouth to-morrow from Bluff, via ports. She will afterwards sail for Bluff, via all ports. NOTICE TO MARINERS. The Customs Office advises that they have been notified that a cable buoy with a red flag has been streamed 6.7 miles from Robertson Point, bearing one, thirty-two degrees true. WINGATUI FROM AUSTRALIA. The Union Company advises that the Wingatui is scheduled to leave Melbourne tomorrow for New’ Plymouth, Wellington and Auckland. She is due here about "Wednesday next. TURAKINA'S MOVEMENTS. Now loading at Wellington, the New Zealand Shipping Company’s steamer Turakina is to sail to-morrow for Napier and Auckland to fill up with wool and produce for London and "West Coast ports of Great Britain. She is to be despatched from Auckland for London on December 17. GALLIC TO LOAD FOR LONDON. The Shaw r , Savill and Albion steamer Gallic is due at New Plymouth on December 22 from Australia direct to load frozen meat and possibly dairy produce for London. She will proceed from here to the Wanganui roadstead and sails finally from Wellington on January 21 from London, via Cape,,Horn, after loading at other New Zealand ports. KITTAWA ARRIVES AND BERTHS. The Kittawa arrived at New Plymouth at about 5.30 pm. yesterday with cargo from Melbourne. She was berthed at the Newton King wharf immediately upon arrival and is expected to sail to-night for Auckland to put out the balance of her cargo. CORINNA DUE THIS MORNING. The Corinna was to leave Wellington yesterday afternoon for New Plymouth, where she is due at about noon to-day. She will load 7500 crates of cheese for transhipment to the Mamari at Wellington. She is scheduled to sail to-morrow for Dunedin and Wellington. KAMONA FROM DUNEDIN. The Union Company advises that the Kamona is scheduled to leave Dunedin to-day for New Plymouth, via Timaru. She afterwards sails for Westport and Greymouth. PHOSPHATES FROM NAURU. The steamer Stroma i« expected at Auckland at any time now with 5500 tons of phosphates from Nauru Island. She will unload about half the cargo at Auckland and the remainder at New Plymouth, where she is due about the end of this week. TOTARA DESPATCHED. The Union Company's chartered steamer Totara was despatched at 4.15 p.m. yesterday for Wellington and Lyttelton, after discharging coal from Westport. OPIHI FROM WELLINGTON. The Opihi left Wellington early yesterday afternoon for New Plymouth, where she is due between 10 and 11 o’clock this morning. She will sail either to-night or to-morrow morning for Westport and Nelson. ONEHUNGA SERVICE. The Rarawa arrived at New Plymouth at the usual hour yesterday morning with passengers and 76 tons of cargo from Onehunga. She returned north after the arrival of the mail train last night, and is due back again early on Friday morning. A.A.O. LINE SAILINGS. The following movements are announced of American-Australian-Orient Line steamers engaged in the New Zealand services: — The West Conob cleared Los Angeles ou November 22 for Auckland and southern ports. She is due at Auckland on December 17, and after discharge In New Zealand Will return to the Pacific Coast, taking cargo for San Francisco and Vancouver. The West Calera is to clear Los Angeles on December 4 for Auckland, where she is due on December 28. and Wellington. The Elkridge is to sail on December 18 for Auckland (January 11) and southern ports. The West CajooV, West Nivarta, Montague,. West Henshaw, West Islip and West Conob are to leave Los Angeles for Auckland and other New Zealand ports at fortnightly intervals. AORANGI TO BE OVERHAULED. The Union Company's Royal Mail motor-ship Aorangi is to be withdrawn from the Vancouver service on arrival at Sydney on January 8, solely in order to have her engines overhauled. The vessel has been running continuously for two years without an overhaul of her engines, and yet on her recent run from ikuckland to Sydney she established a new record. The Aorangi’s engines have proved an unqualified success, and it speaks volumes for them that they base run for two years without being “taken dnvn” for an overhaul. The vessel’s passenger accominodatlcn has given the utmost satisfaction, and the many testimonies lhe Union Company has received provide grounds of pr of of the complete success of the ship's design throughout.
