DOMINION PREMIERS

THEIR NORTHERN TOUR. By Telegraph—Press Assn.—Copyright. * Reeived Nov. 30, 5.5 p.m. London, Nov. 29. After a quiet couple of days at Glen Eagles, golfing when the Scottish mists permitted on the v?orld’s most famous links, Mr. S. M. Bruce journeyed last night to Crewe and this morning saw the first sun since leaving Edinburgh. He breakfasted at the country home of Sir Edwin Stockton, the host of many of the Australian cricketers and afterwards motored to Stoke-on-Trent and met Mr. J. G. Coates and party. They inspected Meakins’ potteries and afterwards Doulton’s potteries. Mr. Bruce was photographed when working the modern equivalent of the ancient potter’s wheel. He ’ then autographed

the backs of a number of plates into which his signature will be permanently baked. He also saw an order of plates for Australian buyers in their own design. The party attended a town hall luncheon given by the Chamber of Commerce and pottery owners. They later heard the children’s choral singing in the King’s Hall. Instead of enclosing the freedom in caskets the council gave Mr. and Mrs. Bruce a beautiful tea service and Mr. and Mrs. Coates a set of wedgwood vases. Mr. and Mrs. Bruce then entrained for Birmingham, and Mr. and Mrs. Coates for Sheffield.
