PURDY TO MEET TROWERN. By Telegraph.—Press Association. Palmerston N., Nov. 30. The Manawatu Boxing Association has matched Purdy and Trowern for fifteen rounds on Boxing Night, the stake to be £l5O. As Les. Murray’s claim to the lightweight title, expires on December 22, the association is taking the necessary steps to have the contest carry the championship. McKNIGHT BEATS JAMITO. V Hamilton, Nov. 30. In a professional boxing contest of ten rounds last night Nelson McKnight gained a verdict on points over Salvino Jamito. It was a fast contest, but cleaner hitting by McKnight gave him his second victory over the Filipino.
