MILITARY TRAINING
OPPOSITION OF LABOUR.
By Telegraph.—Press Association.
Wellington, Nov. 29. The national executive of the New Zealand Labour Party passed a resolution at its last meeting congratulating the Presbyterian General Assembly on the decision to work for the abolition of compulsory military training. The importance of cultivating peace psychology on the principles of the Founder of the Christian Church could not be too strongly urged, and no field for work in this direction had more possibilities of producing good fruit than the youth of the Dominion.
In conveying the messages to the clerk of the Assembly, the national secretary of the Labour Party assured him that any efforts they might make for the abolition of the system that bred a military spirit or that might advance the universal peace movement would be heartily supported by the New Zealand Labour Party.
