Received November 29, 5.5 p.m. London, Nov. 28. Work will be resumed in practically the entire coalfields on Monday, with the exception of South Wales, Yorkshire and Durham. In the two last-named districts ballots are progressing on the recommendation that the owners’ terms be accepted, and South Wales is expected to ballot in a day or two. In a speech in South Yorkshire, Mr. A. J. Cook, secretary to the Miners’ Federation, said he refused to call the result of the strike a defeat. It was a retreat, but they would set about the 'task of recovering the ground which had been lost.
